The Champions

The house has no interest in sponsored posts, and the people we serve can smell one across a field. A champion is different: a fighter, fencer, cutter, smith or performer who carries Warborn steel on real ground, is named for it, and tells the truth about how it held.

  1. 01 · The house never buys words

No champion is ever paid to praise a piece, and no champion is asked to. What is said of Warborn steel is said because it was carried and used.

  2. 02 · Steel first, always

A champion is set up with the piece their discipline actually calls for — chosen with them, not handed down. If it fails on the field, the house wants that said out loud.

  3. 03 · Named, not hidden

A champion stands on the Carrier's Roll by name, with their ground and their steel. The house cites them; they need not cite the house.

  4. 04 · Their ground is theirs

No exclusivity is asked. A champion may carry any maker's steel, teach anywhere, and speak freely. The house asks only honesty.

  5. 05 · Few, and chosen slowly

This is not a discount programme. The Founder chooses each champion herself and reads every petition with her own eye.

The Champion's Standing

The charter above is the house's word and it never changes. This ladder runs the other way: what the house gives back, month upon month, to the hand who carries its mark on real ground. Dues buy teaching, allowance, support and counsel — never a good word.

  • Dues never buy a good word — the charter's first point stands above this ladder.
  • Dues never buy a place among the champions; the Founder still chooses each hand herself.
  • Dues never bind you. No exclusivity is asked at any rung, and you may end them in a breath.
