The Helms
The first thing a foe sees and the last thing that fails. Steel for the head that carries the house.
The great pieces stand at the front where the torches are brightest; the small ones wait further in, in the dark.

The end of the hall — the wall is cold here
About Medieval Helmets
Medieval helmets for sale at Warborn Blades — great helms, bascinets, sallets, and coifs. The first thing a foe sees and the last thing that fails. Steel for the head that carries the house. A real helm is built from gauge steel thick enough to stop a blow and shaped to deflect rather than absorb.
When choosing a helmet, the gauge of the steel is the first number to read. 14-gauge is the standard for functional combat and HEMA; 18-gauge is lighter and suited for display and reenactment. The shape matters as much as the thickness: a bascinet with a visor turns a thrust; a sallet with a tail protects the neck; a great helm encloses the head fully but limits vision and breath. Every ware page states the gauge, the interior diameter, and whether the helm is fitted with a liner.
Every piece in this hall is held by a licensed dealer and ships from the United States. The Herald's guide to medieval weapons covers the evolution of the helmet from the Norman conical to the armet.

Questions at the Door
- What medieval helmets does Warborn Blades carry?
- 33 pieces stand in The Helms today — great helms, bascinets, sallets and coifs. The first thing a foe sees and the last thing that fails. Steel for the head that carries the house. Every piece is held by Warborn Blades as a licensed dealer of melee arms and armor, and ships from the United States.
- How much do medieval helmets cost?
- In this hall the crown runs from $234.99 to $1,784.99, with the middle of the rack near $689.99. Every price shown is the price paid — no hidden dues are added at the vow beyond lawful sales tax and carriage.
- How long are these pieces?
- They measure 9.4" to 10" overall. Each ware page states its own reach; where a measure was not given by the forge, we say plainly that our reckoning is an estimate rather than pretend to a number we were not told.
- Do I have to be eighteen to buy?
- Yes. Warborn Blades sells edged and impact arms only to buyers eighteen years or older, and the gate verifies age before any steel is shown. Some states and cities restrict particular patterns; the buyer is responsible for the law where the parcel lands.
- What if the steel arrives damaged or is not what I wanted?
- Unblooded steel may be sent back within 30 days of arrival. There is never a restocking toll — the full price of the piece comes back to you. The road home is yours to pay, unless the piece came to harm on the road, was faulty, or was not what you ordered; then the house bears the carriage both ways. Speak to the Steward's Ear and a return writ is issued the same hour, or call the house at 1-800-368-8131.
