The Shields
Half of every fight is what you do not take. The board is a weapon that argues by refusal.
The great pieces stand at the front where the torches are brightest; the small ones wait further in, in the dark.

About Medieval Shields
Medieval shields and bucklers for sale at Warborn Blades — bucklers, bosses, and painted boards. Half of every fight is what you do not take. The board is a weapon that argues by refusal: it turns the edge, it closes the line, and at close range it strikes with its rim.
When choosing a shield, the construction determines whether it will hold. A center-grip round shield (a buckler or boss shield) is built from steel or layered wood with a central hand grip; a strapped shield carries the weight on the forearm and allows a weapon in the same hand. Every ware page states the material, the diameter, and whether the shield is functional or decorative.
Every piece in this hall is held by a licensed dealer and ships from the United States. The Herald's guide to medieval weapons covers how the shield was used alongside the sword and the spear.

Questions at the Door
- What medieval shields & bucklers does Warborn Blades carry?
- 25 pieces stand in The Shields today — bucklers, bosses and painted boards. Half of every fight is what you do not take. The board is a weapon that argues by refusal. Every piece is held by Warborn Blades as a licensed dealer of melee arms and armor, and ships from the United States.
- How much do medieval shields & bucklers cost?
- In this hall the crown runs from $29.00 to $159.99, with the middle of the rack near $89.99. Every price shown is the price paid — no hidden dues are added at the vow beyond lawful sales tax and carriage.
- How long are these pieces?
- They measure 6" to 20.1" overall. Each ware page states its own reach; where a measure was not given by the forge, we say plainly that our reckoning is an estimate rather than pretend to a number we were not told.
- Do I have to be eighteen to buy?
- Yes. Warborn Blades sells edged and impact arms only to buyers eighteen years or older, and the gate verifies age before any steel is shown. Some states and cities restrict particular patterns; the buyer is responsible for the law where the parcel lands.
- What if the steel arrives damaged or is not what I wanted?
- Unblooded steel may be sent back within 30 days of arrival. There is never a restocking toll — the full price of the piece comes back to you. The road home is yours to pay, unless the piece came to harm on the road, was faulty, or was not what you ordered; then the house bears the carriage both ways. Speak to the Steward's Ear and a return writ is issued the same hour, or call the house at 1-800-368-8131.
