The Register

The Veiled Mark

A house that keeps its suppliers unnamed may be read, and — if the reading comes back clean — marked. The mark is dated, revocable, and answers here by its own code. It cannot be bought below a clean reading, and it is pulled the day new leakage is found. The register never names the houses that hold marks, and cannot be searched by storefront: shielding a house's sources means shielding the house as well.
