The Blade Passport

A receipt belongs to whoever paid. A passport belongs to the steel. Open one for any blade you own — ours or another house's — and it keeps the whole life of the piece: where it was forged, when it came to you, every tending, every field it was carried onto, and every lawful hand it passes into. The record is kept in your own machine. Nothing is sent anywhere. When you sell the piece, you hand the passport with it, and the buyer pays for the history as well as the steel.

No passports opened yet. Open one and the record begins today — it does not need the blade's whole history to be worth keeping.

Every piece bought from this house is sealed at the moment it leaves the wall; the seal code can be proven by any hand at the Seal. A passport carries that seal forward, and stands on its own for steel that has none.
